Hi! Looking for others' thoughts on a recurring dream. First time I had the dream was about 10 years ago. I had it two or three times over the course of a year. Didn't have it again until about three years ago. The dream occurred another two or three timessince then. That is, until last November. I have had it five time since then. Each time it becomes more and more intense; more visceral. Let me say, before I describe the dream, that I use the word "dream" loosely, as it is so vivid, that I'm not quite sure if it is actually a dream. It always starts out the same. I'm "asleep," and I "wake" to this feeling that something's not quite right. I lie there, and this festering anxiety rapidly escalates to panic as I realize there is someone else in the room. A buzzing sensation fills my head and I am unable to move. I try to get up, but cannot. I literally am unable to move. It feels as if something is on top of me, holding me down and pinning my eyes shut. Historically, this would happen for just a few seconds, then I would wake up, and everything was fine. However, as mentioned previously, they have become more intense. The last couple of time, I have heard a deep growl. And last night, for the first time, I "saw" something. The same thing happened - feeling as if someone was in room, escalating panic, buzzing sensation in head, unable to open my eyes, unable to move, felt as if someone was on top of me, deep growl - however, when I was finally able to open my eyes, there was a face in front of mine. The room was dark, so all I could make out was the general shape of the head, which, as best I can remember, was about the size of an average person, with small pointy things on the side of the head (I'm assuming ears). It was a cloudy black, as if I could see through the shape. It was staring me in the eyes. It growled angerily when I opened my eyes. I gasped and wriggled and it was gone. I have no idea what it means. I don't even know if it is a dream. Not sure if it belongs here or on paranormal board. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
